Searles O'Dubhain, February 20, 2001
A Great First Book for Druidic Students
I found Druid Magic to be a wonderful introduction to a number of topics
about Druids. It spans several Celtic cultures in order to find the
common (and/or not so common) thread that is often overlooked by those
who seek information about Druidic practice. Sadly, there are many that
think the... |

Part adventure tale and part grimoire, The Lost Books of
Merlyn remains true to the Druids' method of wrapping important
knowledge in a story. Monroe's tale of the British Celts, their conflict
with the Romans, and the last days of King Arthur, recounts the demise
of the Druids but reveals the hope... |

A reviewer, January 3, 1999
Sexist and Historically Inaccurate
"The 21 lessons of Merlyn" tells a good story, but is
historically inaccurate. For starters, the Druids came from Ireland in
1000BC...not from Atlantis in 400BC. Easter and the Yule Log are
Germanic, not Pagan AND the kissing under the mistletoe tradition is
Scandinavian. Also Ogham is not... |

Good background on Celtic spirituality
Sirona's way of approaching to Celtic spirituality is more of a wiccan
way. Although I am not a wiccan, I recommend this book to wiccans as
well as to druids and to those who follow the feri tradition. This book
is a nice introductory to Celtic spirituality, however you might want to
read more...

From Booklist
This well-packaged new book on the Celts puts substantive academic
research into popular terms. King's focus is on the wheel of the Celtic
year with its cycle of four celebrations: the fire feast of Lughnasa;
the still-celebrated festival of the dead, Sarnhain (Halloween); the
feast of the herds at... |

Celtic Mysteries and Magick
This book is fantasic. I love the background information on the Celts.
Amber is able story-teller with a flair for the Celtic. Her methods and
magic are also above par for books of this type. A must read for Craft
people |

This is the one that all other books are judged by. Piggott doesn't
wander off into romanticism but it also isn't just dry
anthropology.
